My Personal Design Philosophy
My design philosophy is still developing. There are certain things I always keep in mind when I am working on a project and they tend to reflect on my personality. So in order to better define my philosophy, I feel I must further introduce myself.
I am a somewhat passive, minimalist, dreamer who enjoys the color green, looking at beautiful things and hates loud noises and the dark.
With that in mind, when I am designing something, I always try to relate to it personally. I would be ashamed to put my name on something that I would never use or interact with or something that wouldn’t stand the test of time. I have many flaws and much room for improvement, so encouraging the more analytical, problem solving side of myself is what brings out the challenge of design for me.
When I am working on a design, I try to remember the words of Buckminster Fuller,
“ I never think about beauty. I think only how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.”
